Barton Stone & Alexander Campbell were two men who came from the Presbyterian denomination, but they rejected the Westminster confession because they rejected Calvinistic ideologies about free will and the moment of salvation.

They did not believe that people needed to wait for an “experience” that conveyed God had chosen them to be part of the elect. Instead they believed that anyone could reason and understand the scriptures and know they need God and could make that decision at their own free-will.
